Davco Welding Ltd. was incorporated in 1982 and specializes in industrial construction projects. Davco operates throughout Western Canada. As a leader in the industry, we are committed to quality workmanship and the safety of our employees, our customers and support our community.
At Davco our key personnel are experienced and competent in their craft. We recognize the importance of education and training in today's society. With strong support from the Apprenticeship programs, we strive to train and empower the next generation of workers. Beyond practical knowledge and skills, our employees are encouraged to take pride in their work, and to maintain Davco’s reputation in the industry.
Davco’s head office, along with a 35 acre yard and fabrication facilities are in Wainwright. In Lloydminster we have a 4 acre yard, fabrication facilities, and administrative offices. We have made it our goal to maintain a well organized, controlled and systematic work environment to increase efficiency for our customers as well as to better sustain ourselves.
We take pride in enriching the community and it's programs whenever the opportunity arises. We encourage positive community growth and development and involve ourselves in community events as much as possible. This is displayed through contributions of labour and equipment to a variety of community projects and also through monetary donations to sporting and community groups.

Davco is committed to a strong safety program that protects employees, property and the public from incidents. Daily and monthly safety meetings, plus the Davco Orientation process for new employees, strives to infuse a 'walk the talk' approach to safety.
Our goal is to achieve and maintain an injury and accident free workplace. This means that all potential hazards are assessed and every effort is made to eliminate them in order to ensure all employees get home safely. Through continuous safety and loss control efforts, we can accomplish this.
As an industry leader in safety, Davco is continuously keeping abreast of legislation and industry changes. Davco's safety program constantly evolves in order to incorporate these changes. Davco has held a valid Certificate of Recognition (COR) since 1993.
All Davco employees, including management, are responsible and accountable for the company's overall safety initiatives. Complete and active participation by everyone, every day, at every job is necessary for the safety excellence our company expects.
Davco has quality control programs registered with Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba for pressure piping fabrication, alteration, & repair, as well as Vessel Alteration & Repair. Davco is also an authorized testing facility for Performance Qualification Testing of Welders in Alberta. As well Davco is a CWB Certified Division 2 company for the fabrication of structural steel.
Our pipe drafting software creates ISO's, tracks heat numbers, NDE, weld maps and more.
We use Advance Steel to create shop drawings for structural fabrication, and NC1 codes for our beam line.
Professional QC packages are completed for all piping and CWB structural projects.
In addition to many other qualifications, our quality control division includes CWB certified welding inspectors, CWB certified welding supervisors, ABSA registered welding examiner, NACE certified coating inspector (up to lvl 2).
David & Connie Faas, Ownership
David and Connie are the owners of Davco. The Davco name is an incorporation of DAVid and COnnie.
David has spent his entire career in the construction industry. David received his Journeyman Welder ticket and ‘B’ pressure certificate in 1982, and established Davco later that year. Through the successful completion of one project after another, David slowly grew the company. David has always believed in encouraging apprenticeship, and is always one to lead by example. David became a Journeyman Crane Operator in 1997, and Journeyman Steamfitter-Pipefitter in 2006 in order to apprentice those under him as the company grew. Connie received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta in 1981. She taught at the Blessed Sacrament School in Wainwright, and helped David out with accounting and safety in her limited spare time. After her third child was born, Connie remained home to work at Davco full time. She specialized in accounting and safety, receiving her NCSO in 1994. She has managed the safety and office staff, slowly building her team around her as the company grew.
Together David and Connie enjoy spending their free time scuba diving, quading, and spending time at the lake.
Mike Hannigan, V.P. Operations
Mike is the V.P. of Operations, overseeing all projects and helping to set the strategic direction of the organization.
Mike has spent his career in oil and gas, and most recently was the president of Clearwater Energy. He brings to us a wealth of knowledge and expertise managing both people and projects.
In his free time Mike enjoys spending time with his family, and dual sport motorcycling.
Jamie Faas, Business Development Manager
Jamie is the Business Development Manager. Jamie maintains contact with potential, new, and existing clients, leads the estimating team, supply chain, special projects, and ensures awarded projects are initiated and successfully transferred to the operations team.
Jamie is a graduate of the Engineering Design & Drafting technology program from NAIT, as well as a Journeyman Welder and Journeyman Crane operator.
Away from work, Jamie enjoys camping, quading, fishing, and spending time at the lake.
Darcy Clark, Training Coordinator
Darcy is the HSE manager at Davco. Darcy manages all of our safety personnel, maintains and updates our safety manual, coordinates training, as well as attending any incidences and manages the corporate safety statistics.
Darcy joined Davco in 1998, and brought with him a lot of knowledge, and a willingness to get the job done. Darcy constantly sought to expand his abilities, and quickly became skilled at every task we could find to assign him. Darcy was the dispatcher at Davco for many years, coordinating all of the workers and projects at Davco. Darcy takes great pride in seeing the next generation of workers grow and succeed.
When not at work, Darcy enjoys spending time on his family farm with his wife and kids.
Leana Ross, Controller
Leana is Davco’s Controller. She oversees the financial operations of the company.
Leana is a CPA, CGA. Her background is in finance, and she has been a corporate controller in the oil industry since 2002. Her experience and wealth of industry knowledge has been a great asset to Davco.
When she is not crunching numbers, she enjoys scuba diving and roller derby.
Chris McLean, Crane & Transport Manager
Chris is a Journeyman Crane operator, Boom Truck Operator, and Class 1 Driver. Prior to joining Davco, Chris operated equipment for many years, working his way from the equipment seat to the office seat, managing heavy lift equipment on many oilsands projects.
When not at work, Chris enjoys playing Hockey, golfing, and driving fast cars.
Kevin Faas, QC Manager
Kevin is the Quality Control Manager at Davco. He ensures that Quality Standards and Procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications.
Kevin is a graduate from the Welding Engineering Technology program at SAIT, and holds the Certified Engineering Technologist designation from ASET. Other certifications include ABSA Welding Examiner, API 510 Vessel Inspector, CWB & NACE Level 2. He started with Davco pipefitting, and has spent a lot of time in the field over the years, doing everything from Torqueing to Welding.
When Kevin is not in the office seat, he enjoys time in the seat of anything with lots of horsepower, and four wheels. When the snow flies, he can be found heading towards the mountains with his snowmobiles in tow.
Alex MacLure, Project Manager
Alex manages all activities in the Wainwright yard, from the fabrication shops to the paint shops and the assembly yard.
Alex is a journeyman pipefitter, who joined our team in 2008. Always eager to learn, Alex moved quickly from crew foreman to lead hand, to project supervisor and into management. Alex has a wealth of industry knowledge, and enjoys passing his knowledge (or the latest hockey scores) along to the new workers.
When he is not at work, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He can often be found camping, golfing, fishing, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
Brent Hall, Project Manager
Brent is a Project Manager, with a resume including large scale projects from Cromer, MB to Ft. McMurray, AB, and everywhere in between. Brent is always looking for new challenges, and is constantly pursuing superior performance on each project.
Brent joined our team in 2003, as an apprentice pipefitter. Ever since arriving Brent has always challenged himself to grow and learn new skills. This served him as well as a journeyman pipefitter, and his desire to get the job done properly made for a natural progression into supervision and management. Brent has grown with Davco, always taking on new challenges as the company needed.
When not working Brent enjoys traveling the world with his family.
Julien Paul, Project Manager
It would be difficult to find a more experienced manager in the industry than Julien. He enjoys the challenges of project management, and the satisfaction of completing a project. Julien received his journeyman ticket in 1980, and welded for many years building tanks, vessels, and piping. Julien moved from welding to a foreman position in the 90’s, and ever since joining Davco in 1996 he has continually pushed everyone to be their best. When Julien isn’t managing projects, he enjoys spending time with his family at his cabin.
Colton Ness, Lead Estimator
Colton Ness is the lead estimator at Davco. He manages all estimates that come in, ensuring they are completing within deadlines and meet the client requirements. He collaborates with third party suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing, as well as ensuring progressive opportunity for Davco. Colton received his Bachelors of Commerce from the University of Calgary. He joined our team as a project coordinator and estimator. His intuition, attention to detail, and mastery of estimating & scheduling software have made him an excellent estimator. Colton enjoys the fast paced environment, and the constant challenge of balancing interests of all project stakeholders while preparing a fair estimate. When he is not in the office, Colton can be found helping out on the family farm or cheering on his favorite sports team with friends and family.
